Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson) Original Screen Worn Hero Costume
The Holy Grail of TITANIC movie memorabilia collecting (at least as far as we are concerned) is without doubt this beautiful, original hero costume actually screen worn by Leonardo DiCaprio in his classic and unforgettable role as the doomed, free-spirited artist Jack Dawson.
This wonderful costume is comprised of:
1) a 6-button wool vest with notched collar and lapels, welt pockets, and side vents,
2) a knit cotton shirt, drop shoulders, bib front and band collar,
3) cotton corduroy pants, and
4) elastic suspenders.
This ensemble outfit emerged from the film as the character Jack’s signature costume, having featured in the majority of his scenes. Only a handful of these authentic Jack Dawson character costumes were specifically tailor made (by Dominic Gherardi) for LD to wear in the film (standard film practice) and this particular costume ensemble is documented as actually having been worn by LD in numerous scenes. This is the only TITANIC / Jack Dawson bib ensemble outfit known to exist outside the Fox archives, aside from just one other set that comprises a Titanic bib shirt and corduroy pants, and is owned by LD himself. Particularly rare are the vest and suspenders.
This 100% original costume is accompanied by an authentic C.O.A. from 20th Century Fox. The outfit may also be referenced on Page 53 of the J. Peterman Gift Book #1 (1997) and is described as (Item No. GB17117) “The outfit of Jack Dawson, a certain 3rd-class passenger and artist, travelling aboard a doomed ship. Leonardo DiCaprio is Dawson.”
